Book Description: Now that the ley lines around Cabeswater have been woken, nothing for Ronan, Gansey, Blue, and Adam will be the same. Ronan, for one, is falling more and more deeply into his dreams, and his dreams are intruding more and more into waking life. Meanwhile, some very sinister people are looking for some of the same pieces of the Cabeswater puzzle that Gansey is after…

I must say right off the bat I thought the first book was unique, and this one just got even more unique. The fact that Ronan can take stuff from his dreams! It was definitely a good twist on his character, I was wanting to know more about him from the first book and I definitely found out more in this book. I have to laugh because at the end of the book I was like well Gansey and Ronan are similar to Jace and Alec in The Mortal Instruments series; definitely not a bad thing either it was just something that popped into my head.

I like that really all of the characters are becoming more developed in this book. You are seeing a totally different side of Adam and seeing how offering himself to Cabeswater has really changed him. You are seeing the relationship between Gansey and Blue start to take shape; even though we know that can’t really happen right now. You are seeing more into Blue’s family and some background on them and more on what they can do. I think all in all the characters all mesh well together and they all play an important part in the story.

I do like that this story isn’t totally focused on romance, meaning it isn’t just about Blue and Gansey’s relationship because what the book is focusing on is them finding Gansey’s king and fixing the lay lines. I also like that it was not turned into a triangle relationship as well. Don’t get me wrong a good love story in a book is great; but it is nice for it not to be the main focus of the story. Instead it is the magic, the mystery, the what is going to happen next in their quest that is pulling me in.

Don’t want to give too much away but I definitely recommend checking out this series! I am already half way through the third one and loving it as well!
