Book Description #4:
All her life, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love’s death. She doesn’t believe in true love and never thought this would be a problem, but as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.
I must say I thought this was a great series, all four of the books kept me interested and were just fun to read. I thought the premise of the story was unique and not quite like other books I have read. Yes it had magic, and romance, and stuff but it wasn’t the same story that you read with just small variations. I mean this book has someone who can pull stuff from their dreams!? Which is definitely a cool trick.
I like all of the characters. They all play off of each other really well and their is a great dynamic between the main characters and the supporting characters. You have a great backstory on each of them and you feel differently and connected in a way to each of them. I especially love Gansey because I am a history nerd and I think that is one reason I like this series is because it is like young adult fantasy historical fiction all rolled into one. I like that the romance in the story is their but doesn’t truly make it all about that; instead it is about their quest.
I thought the plot twist with Adam and Ronan was great; I definitely called it! I thought that there were good twists in both of these books that just kept you wanting to read more and find out what happened. I am very glad all four of the books were out when I started; then that way I don’t forget what I have read in between. I think the third I liked slightly more than the 4th; I guess if I had to chose a least favorite it was the 4th only because there was one part of the ending that I felt needed a little more explaining, but really I loved them all. I thought the ending was good anyway and that you weren’t left with a ton of questions and you got a nice quick wrap up.
I definitely would recommend this series! Would be awesome to have a follow up series and maybe they go on another historical adventure?!
