These ten short stories give an epilogue to the Mortal Instruments series and provide glimpses of what’s in store in the Dark Artifices.

First and foremost I had started to read Lady Midnight and there were a few things where I was like when did this happen?! Did I really miss something in the last book? Then I told my friend who reads these also and she goes did you read Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy I said nope. Luckily she had it and now a lot more makes sense!

This was a fun follow-up to the Mortal Instruments series. You get to finally see what is going to happen to Simon; if he gets his memory back and if he becomes a Shadowhunter. On top of it you get some more history on the Shadowhunter world and the other characters from the other series, and even some that weren’t mentioned a lot.

I did not think this was quite as good as the Mortal Instruments, and maybe that is partially because it is written by multiple people. I thought just some of the jokes and stuff weren’t as funny and everything. However, I still liked the different stories that are told and think they are a good follow up to the series and gave us some good follow up information that was interesting. I liked hearing more about Magnus and Alec’s life together.

Overall this was a fun read and I definitely would recommend it if you are going to continue reading the other books that come out.
